Positive Behavior Support
At CGC we identify a behavior as problematic when it interferes with learning and prevents the child from engaging in socially appropriate interactions with other people and environments.
We use the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis to identify why the behavior is occurring and what is the best strategy to intervene. We do this through a structured process: interview caregivers and observation of the child, complete a Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA), implement an individualized behavior plan, and collect data to see how the behavior is changing.
CGC provides consultation services to children, families, schools, community based organizations. Our focus is to support children who display social-emotional needs as well as provide preventative services through education and training. We believe that we can make our communities stronger, and increase children's emotional intelligence by supporting schools and programs that work with children in our area, thereby increasing academic achievement and promoting social success.
Through collaboration, we provide high-quality evidence-based staff and parental training, as well as the implementation of behavior and social/emotional support services to schools or community organizations in the greater Nashville area.
